About Us

My photo
Metamora, Indiana, United States
Whitewater Valley Paranormal Society is a group of like-minded people who have had experiences with the paranormal, or who have an interest in making sense of some phenomena that seem to be unexplainable. We began the society in September 2011, which is an off-shoot of the Southeast Indiana Paranormal Society, to begin investigating some paranormal activity that has been reported over the years in the historical canal town of Metamora, Indiana. We will be investingating other areas in and around the Whitewater Valley area. Many of our investigations are local to the Whitewater River Valley area, however, there are some that are a result of some of our travels. We welcome stories and photos from others in the area who would like to share their experiences

Metamora Ghost Walk Tour

Saturday October 27, 2012

Lantern-Led Tour at 8:00 PM

(Tour Begins at Meeting House Antiques)

*  Discover the Ghosts & Legends of Historic Metamora and hear some of the stories, and the reasons why it is believed to have so much spiritual activity

*  See & experience the strange energy of Indiana Joe’s “Believe It or Not” type collection of shrunken heads, skulls, voodoo and other macabre and bizarre oddities from around the world

*  Visit a local restaurant where real hauntings occur on a daily basis

*  See the unusual car photo in the ice cream shop where a ghost appears

*  Meet "Walter" our canal boat captain ghost

*  Learn about paranormal investigating, and join us for a REAL PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION (a "ghost hunt" as some like to call it).  We will show you how to capture paranormal phenomena digitally (bring your own digital camera, video camera or EMF detectors), and we will help you learn how to use your own senses as a gauge for spiritual activity

See a special showing of “Metamora Ghosts Caught In Action” (Whitewater Valley Paranormal Society’s findings from our Metamora, Indiana investigations)

*  Hear stories of real historical events from Metamora's past.  Some are sad, some tragic, and some are even a bit humorous. Here is your chance to experiece the paranormal side of this historic town for REAL ~ feel it, hear it, and maybe even see it...the presence of those that walked Metamora before us.

We will be leaving from the Meeting House Antiquesbuilding. Please be at the Meeting House 15 minutes prior to the walk. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. We don’t want you to confuse the goose bumps on your arms with chill bumps!

Will you be the one who captures our best evidence yet? Maybe!  Come and try your skills as a paranormal investigator!

(Don’t forget to bring your digital camera, video camera, voice recorder, or even your SmartPhone with Ghost Hunter Apps. There are lots of great apps available, but be sure to read the reviews before you download them.  NOTE: You might want to include extra batteries, as we have had situations where cameras, cell phones and other electronic equipment have all gone dead simultaneously).

We have had outstanding reviews on the past ghost walk/investigations that we have done, and they just seem to be getting better and better!

Metamora Ghost Walk Tours: A REAL Paranormal Experience!

Do you believe in ghosts?
Had a paranormal experience?
Do you see or feel spirits?

Join us for a Ghost Walk Tour in Metamora, Indiana, a National Register Historic District; as we explore the area in search of spirits (those who loved this town and have lingered on).  Take a lantern-led evening stroll through one of Franklin County’s oldest towns and discover our ghosts and legends.  Learn how to capture paranormal phenomena on your digital camera, as well as about other tools that can be used to capture voices, changes in temperature etc., plus, learn how to use your own senses, and especially your sixth sense to detect the presence of ghosts (a great EMF, EVP tool is an app for SmartPhones called Ghost Hunter All In One, which can be used right from your phone to detect changes in electromagnetic frequency and can capture and analyze electronic voice phenomenon).  At the end of this guided tour, there will be a showing of “Metamora Ghosts Caught in Action” at Meeting House Antiques.

Here is your chance to feel the presence of those that walked this earth before us, and hear the ghost tales from several of the “living” residents of this quaint historic town.

Update - 10/29/2011:  The ghost walk was great on Friday night.  We had a lot of interesting energy that was captured by cameras.  Everyone was showing other group members what they had on their digital cameras, and they were really excited!  We can't wait to see what everyone gets tonight.  We urge everyone to share their photos, experience etc. with us by emailing them to whitewatervalleyparanormal@gmail.com.

As we were discussing the Anness Drug Store that was in the Falkner-Pierce Drugstore building until the early 1960's (currently Grannies Cookie Jars and Ice Cream Parlor), and talking about how the main road, the canal, and the railroad all three ran right through the middle of Metamora, and how the town and it's historic buildings were saved due to US 52 being re-routed north of the town (in part by the work and dedication of Milford Anness who passed away in 1992),  we got this interesting photo:

We were asked by a facebook friend to tell a former Metamora Hotel resident (when the building was used for apartments) named Walter "Hello" for her.  She told us that she is sure that he is still there.  After we told him this message from his friend, we believe he may have let his presence be known, as seen it the photo below.  Perhaps he is watching over his old home:

Think Spirits Aren't Real?

If you think dis-embodied spirits don't exist - think again! Check out this video by Baxter King, of some of the world's best examples of ghosts caught on film. Are these photos and videos real or fakes? You decide!
